FAQs

Below are some of my most asked questions regarding facials, lash and makeup services. If you have questions that aren’t covered on this page, please reach out to me.

Facials

I've never had a facial before, what should I book?

As of 1/1/2022, I have updated my service menu to make things easier to book, take a look at the menu and most clients can find an appointment within the scope of their needs. If you are totally new to skincare, I would recommend either the Quench or the Express Facial. Most clients I see are surface dry, and defintely need the extra moisture. The Express Facial is also a great option because it allows me to see the skin and get to know it, without the commitment to a new treatment. Every Facial comes with a routine breakdown, it includes an analysis of your products at home, the products your need to fulfill your skincare goals and how to use them.

I have an event coming up, when should I book my facial?

For special event, I recommend booking a facial at least 48 hrs in advance (72 or more for first time clients). Prep for your Big Day with the Bridal Package, ensure a perfect photo-ready glow with a Quench or Smooth Facial, or pop in for a quite refresh before date night by booking the Express Facial. Do you need makeup for your event? I am also available for in salon or travel makeup service for a flawless look. Use code COMBO10 for 10% off when booking multiple but seperate appointments within a week,

I'm pregnant, can I still get a facial?

Absolutely! Contact me prior to booking for more information on what options are available for pregnany and lactating women.

How soon can I wear makeup after my facial?

While you can usually wear makeup directly after your facial, it is not recommended. It is advised to wait to apply makeup until the day after your facial. In most facials we exoliate away the more protective layer of skin to reveal fresh, new skin which can be sensitive to the sun and to product. It is recommended to give the skin some time to breath and settle to prevent irritation.

Lashes

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are individually applied false lashes used to make the lash line more full and/or to add length to the natural lashes. You may have heard them called "mink" lashes in the past, but that's more of a misnommer. Most lash techs dont really use natural mink hair anymore die to the possible allergies caused by the dander of the animal. I have chosen to use a variety of silk, cashmere, and synthetic lashes to achieve the most seamless look for my guests

Who can get lash extensions?

Everyone! Lash extensions are perfect for anyone who likes an "I woke up like this" ease to getting ready. I have lashed clients as young as 17 (with parent/guardian signature) and as old as 65! They are safe for guests who wear contacts and/or glasses as well as guests with product sensitivities. However, if you do find that you have allergies to certain eyeliners and mascaras, please contact me prior to your apointment so I can make sure to have a glue that doesn;t irritate those allergies.

How long do lash extensions take?

A full set of lash extensions can take anywhere from 2-3 hours, depending on the style chosen and the density of the natural lashes. Lash extensions are placed individually on each healthy natural lash. It does require the guest to be on the bed, with eyes closed for the duration of the service. If laying down for an extended period of time is uncomfortable for you, please let me know prior to booking so I can try my best to accomodate you.

How long do lash extensions last?

Most lash clients can go 2-3 weeks before needing a fill. Lashes are similar to acrylic nails, they require light but consistent maintenance. Between life and the natural lash cycle, lashes will shed naturally over that time, requiring a fill When coming in for a fill, clients with less than 25% lashes left will be charged for a full set.

Do lash extensions cause damage to natural lashes?

Long story short, not usually. Lash extensions, when applied correctly and maintained properly, are perfectly safe. I pride myself on taking good care of my clients lashing by choosing the appropriate sizes for my guests. Growing out lash extensions instead of having them removed will also cause damage. As lashes grow out, they become heavier with the entension still applied which can cause them to break off. Keeping lash extensions clean with oil-free products will also keep natural lashes healthy.

How can I prepare for my lash extensions?

The lash application process is a relaxing one. You will lay on a plush massage table with fresh pillows and blankets. Most guests fall asleep during their appointment. In fact, lash naps are encouraged. Skipping coffee or other caffeinated beverages is also recommended for maximum relaxation. Headphones are also welcome, and I am happy to answer the phone or send texts if needed, but talking on the phone is prohibited during appointment time.
